Once a week the whole tribe would have dinner together in front of a large fire. After dinner the elders and griots would tell stories of gods and ancestors, and would give an offering of food to these gods by putting it into the fire. After these stories everyone would get up and dance and celebrate their history and ancestry until late in the night. Finally everyone would go to home and repeat the cycle the next day.
