Mostly its mixed. bunker hill was an especially major one. despite suffering more losses, the patriot had their first opportunity against the brunt of british forces and had stubbornly held them off. another was trenton where rebels beat hessian (german) forces   in a decisive battle. another as yorktown where they forced the british to surrender.
