However, it is not to say that the Dark Ages were truly "dark" through and through. There was shining glimmers of hope, which slowly came about in technological advances (which was recovering from the fall of the Roman Empire), methodology advances (which greatly helped in farming), and other places, which would then set up Europe for the Middle Ages.
