Step One: Select two of the grievances from the list below. No trials by jury
Not able to trade freely
Unfair taxes
Quartering troops in your home
Not able to vote for government leaders
Standing armies in your neighborhood
Judges’ salaries and jobs at the will of the king

Step Two: Write a fictional newspaper story about how two of these events occurred today.
Include a title for your story.
Write at least one paragraph for each grievance you chose in Step One. You should have at least two paragraphs, one for each grievance, when you are finished.
Pretend that the Declaration of Independence never occurred and that these are still problems in society today.
