What were the Twelve Tables?

the twelve tables are:

1. it is a set of laws

2. this was the first law attempt by the Rome as they want a system where people can electe their own representative

3. it stated the rights and duties of Rome citizen

4. they want that citizen should be treated equally in the name of law

5. to make this law 10 men were appointed

6. it was inscribed on 12 bronze tablets
