The Gilded Age was characterized by all of the above.

The Gilded Age represents a period between the late 1800s and 1900 where American capitalism was at its height. The government pursued a laissez-faire attitude where they pretty much allowed business people to do what they want.

The "spoils system" was also practiced whereby politicians would employ their supporters into government positions simply because they supported them instead of because they merited the position.

These two practices led to corruption as business owners essentially bribed politicians with support who would then put those that the businesses wanted in influential positions to ensure that their business interests would be protected.

In conclusion, the Gilded Age was a corrupt period of American history where the government pursued a laissez-faire policy and the spoils system was practiced.
