Age of exploration began in Europe in the 15th century and proceeding to the 17th century.

The age of exploration began when European were exploring seas and oceans in quest of trading routes. European explored around the world also searched the land of spices, wealth, and riches. The reason for the exploration started because of the silk route through which European get the luxury items from Far East/ Orient. The trade was controlled by the Muslims and Italians, who sold the goods at a high price. Europeans started to find a new way to acquire wealth by building fast sailing ships. The voyage by Christopher Columbus discovered the New World in 1492. Bartolomeu Dias found the route to the Cape of Good Hope that allowed Portuguese to reach India and the Far East from the southern tip of Africa.  

separation of powers, therefore, refers to the division of government responsibilities into distinct branches to limit any one branch from exercising the core functions of another.   the intent is to prevent the concentration of power and provide for checks and balances.
