Gupta was known as an ancient Indian empire. It was founded by King Sri Gupta. The people were predominantly farmers and they had a large army of about 500,000 infantry and 50,000 cavalry which made them a very strong and formidable force.

They also helped in the protection of its villages which was the lowest administrative unit from attacks and revolts.
