This is as a result of technological advancement by humans, and human activity has affected many other facets of the environment. For example, as a result of the increased use of fossil fuels to power machinery, the increased process of extracting natural resources to the point of near scarcity, and the destroying of environments to satisfy human needs, the environment has been suffering greatly. One prime instance of this environmental damage is climate change, which is when the climate changes as a result of pollutants in the atmosphere. These pollutants are a direct result of the increased human activity in the machinery and technology industries, as the burning of fossil fuels and the operating of machinery release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, damaging the atmosphere. The use of machinery and fossil fuels really began to pick up steam in the 1900’s. So, as a result of increased human activity in environmental affairs since 1900, the environment has suffered greatly, increasing the global climate, decreasing oxygen levels, and increasing the risk of UV ray damage to living organisms.
