Americans began to question statements from the Johnson administration because of the fact that the administration stated that this war was successful and US troops may soon be allowed to withdraw. Americans were stunned to see fighting once more. The Tet Offense helped grow the skepticism of the 1960’s of how Many Americans had fled doubts of how well tactics of the Cold War will turn out. During the wake of the Tet Offense many turned their backs to President Johnson which ended up in him deciding not to run for re-election.
