1- The war in Afghanistan, which began on October 7, 2001, was launched by the United States and the United Kingdom in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Although the Allies managed to overthrow the Taliban government, this former government movement has since partially recovered its strength. The campaign was less successful than originally expected to achieve the goal of limiting Al Qaeda.

Since 2006, Afghanistan's stability has been threatened by increased Taliban-led insurgent activity, record high levels of opium production and a weak government with minimal control over areas outside the capital, Kabul.

2- The War in Iraq took place from 2003 to 2011. The main reason for the war was the alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction by the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein, which the US government declared real and a threat to US security.  

The invasion itself lasted from March to May 2003, in which the the United States and its allies occupied Iraq and overthrew Saddam Hussein, while the second phase led to fighting attacks by rebels fighting the occupation, which lasted over six years. Barack Obama launched a massive withdrawal of US troops from Iraq in August 2010, ending on December 31, 2011.
