The Vietnam war was a battle between the American Troops and the Vietcong which were supported by the Soviet Union. The war proved to be a disaster for the American Armed Forces since most of the time the troops didn't even see what shot at them. Vietcong used Guerrilla Warfare to hide behind trees and finding cover firing and ambushing convoys of the American army. That caused often food and ammunition shortages. They ere also known for their brutality to the American Forces and citizens that helped them. America was affected by that war because of the amount of hate and opposition it faced after the war was over. People even spitted on the soldiers coming from the planes and trucks that brought them home which was a sign of disrespect since in their opinion the American Soldiers were needlessly killing other people and also endangering their fellow troops and friends.
