Various military clashes took place during Bill Clinton's presidency. In 1995, the US Air Force participated in the bombing of Serbian positions as part of Operation NATO, with the aim of stopping attacks on UN safe zones and pushing for a peace agreement. Following the conclusion of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the Clinton administration sent US troops as part of the IFOR mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In response to the 1998 attacks on US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, which claimed dozens of victims, Clinton ordered rocket attacks against targets in Sudan and Afghanistan, considered al-Qaeda facilities.
