Why would allowing more citizens to vote change American politics?

Because back when the U.S was getting on its feet the only people who could vote where white men with owned property. So that really narrows it down to a set few of people. Today as long as you are a U.S citizen and haven't had that right taken away by the law you can vote. So a lot more people now have a say in politics and other important things.
