Explain what you think are Jefferson’s and Franklin’s most important contributions.

Benjamin Franklin: One of the three to sign the peace treaty with England which ended the Revolutionary War. He also helped write the Declaration of Independence, and was the oldest delegate at the Constitutional convention.
In the 1740s, he conducted experiments that contributed to the understanding of electricity and invented the lightning rod which protected buildings from fires caused by lightning. And 1752 when he conducted his famous kite experiment and demonstrated that lightning is electricity.

Thomas Jefferson: The primary draftsman of the Declaration of Independence, the second vice president, and as the third president. Jefferson was responsible for the Louisiana purchase doubling the size of the U.S.
