Historically, the Sunna has been characterized by its rejection of any event that constitutes a factor of division of the community. It has sought reconciliation formulas for a better assimilation of the original Message by the successively Islamized territories.

one of the major compromises in the constitutional convention was between the small states and big states. the small states wanted each state to have the same number of representatives in congress. the big states wanted representation based on population.
