Indeed Ashoka not just a great ruler but a great emperor ever in the Indian history. No king have ruled such a big empire besides an Ashoka not even Akbar & Aurangazeb. His empire extend from Nepal & Bhutan till Afghanistan also he ruled for about more than 50 years. However he was cruel in the early years of his regime but after the battle of Kalinga he turned towards Buddhism & walked on the path of Dharma. He spread teachings of Lord Buddha in the entire sub continent of India. He no doubtedly ruled over the big part of the eternal world.
