During the past two decades, historians have increasingly examined the intricate relationship between race and the Cold War. In doing so, they have probed the different ways the Cold War influenced race relations, by both regarding calls for change, promoting the drive for civil rights, and how race relations influenced the course of the Cold War. Most black Americans were interested primarily in the connection between the struggle for freedom and equality in the United States and the fight against colonialism in Africa.

Explanation:

Communism is a social, economic, and political ideology. Under a communist system, all people are to be equal politically, economically, and socially. The people are supposed to own everything communally, from businesses, to food, and beyond. There should be no social class and all people are to receive the same quality and quantity of possessions as everyone else. The role of the federal government was known as the Cold War and was meant to stop the power being taken from the government. It compares to the fight against racial discrimination because during the war black Americans were treated very unequally and citizens were stuck in the middle of the whole fight.
