Why did Stalin kill Millions of his own people during his attempt to implement his “collectivization” program?

He was the Father of Nations, Genius of Humanity, and even the Gardener of Human Happiness! Soviet history books steadily elevated his revolutionary role. Top Soviet revolutionaries and leaders were air‐​brushed out of old photographs.
