Teoria das Relações Internacionais
A compreensão da dimensão, funções e atuação dos Estados é um dos pontos principais das teorias das relações internacionais. A abordagem do Estado ganha especial destaque nas vertentes realistas, que enxergam no Estado o ator principal dos jogos políticos. Pressupostos acerca do Estado aparecem no pensamento de Edward Carr e Hans Morgenthau, que desenvolveram a teoria realista clássica no século XX.
