When the country was founded, who were the only people who could participate in government?

People can take part in many ways in politics. You may either write or work for a candidate or political party as your representative or senator. They can make presentations or call the police to complain about the neighbor's dog to their local school board or community council. Partly because of our federalism, citizens at federal, municipal and local levels have many opportunities to engage in our democracy.

If only race and ethnicity are taken into consideration, white people have greater VOTING rates than blacks and latin women. But this pattern is rather disappointing. Some research that track revenues and education have shown that the voting rates for White, Black and Latinos are roughly the same.

4. Sexuality.

Females had been under-represented at the voting stands for many years, but these were at least the same proportion as men in recent elections. Yes, women were significantly higher than men in 1992 and 1996.
