Majority of the states which were west of Mississippi river granted the right to enfranchisement to women. Wyoming, Kentucky and Colorado are some of the states which offered full suffrage to women even before the nineteenth amendment in the constitution.

This amendment is also referred to be the Susan B Anthony amendment. Tennessee was the last state to vote for passage of the nineteenth amendment into law.
