Joseph McCarthy was a senator from the state of Wisconsin. H accused people from within the government and outside concerning the spread of communism without appropriate pieces of evidence. Red Scare was the period of threat of communism In the United States. A term McCarthyism was used in the 1950's to pressurize people by intensive investigation of being accused of spreading communism in the United States. the progressive era is a period of widespread social activism and political reform across the united states that spanned from the 1890s to the 1920s.[1] the main objectives of the progressive movement were eliminating problems caused by industrialization, urbanization, immigration, and political corruption.
