report: americans working for rights today

even though the revolutionary war officially ended with the peace treaty of 1783, the battle for human rights has not ended. the civil war was fought to determine states' rights in a democratic republic and win the freedom of the black slaves. even today, people in the united states are working to protect their rights.

use newspapers, news magazines, or the internet to identify groups of people that are working in the area of human rights. select five groups in the united states. what rights are they working to protect? are they working for "new" rights or stronger enforcement of existing civil rights laws? how are their efforts similar to or different from the efforts of america's founding fathers? evaluate the use and effectiveness of the groups' methods in protecting rights. type your results using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. your report should be 250 words in length. list your sources at the end of your project.
