who is living in west berlin during the berlin airlift.

In response to the Soviet blockade of West Berlin's land routes, the US initiates a huge airlift of food, water, and medication for the besieged city's residents. The first planes set off from bases in England and western Germany on June 26, 1948, and landed in West Berlin.

Monica is my name. For months, I've been hungry, afraid, and freezing. Since the Russian invasion, we haven't been able to eat or flee. However, we soon received encouraging news: the evil people were retreating! We heard that the Allies were planning to partition our land and assist us in escaping to a safer location.

Suddenly, I look up and saw a plane! When it lands, its cargo is full of food... a lot of food. In my entire life, I have never felt more grateful for that day. My throbbing hunger was relieved by the warm, soft bread and the steaming hot soup, which had been clinging to my stomach for months.
