The French had formed allies with the American colonists in the battle that paved ways to American independence. This battles also helped start the French revolution which came years later after American independence. France's social, economic, and political had similarities with the American colonists' struggles which made it somehow easier for French reformist during the revolution.  

The similarities included economic struggles where both American colonists and French reformists felt that the taxation system was biased, discriminatory, and unfair. Both countries had one point be under the monarchy leadership which they revolting against.
