1. Obelisks originated in Ancient Egypt and are man-made pillars made from stone. From Egypt, they spread around the world and can be found in Greek and Roman cultures as well. They are some-times referred to as 'pins' due to their unique shape.

2. An Obelisk is a narrow, four-sided tower-like structure, with a small pyramid tip. They are usually decorated with stone carvings either with pictures or text describing an event.

3. The Egyptians were prolific builders and had a lot of unique tools to aid in their construction projects. For Obelisk, they mostly use clay, limestone, reed stone, hammers and mullets to create strong monuments that still survive to this day.
