We sensationalize our founding fathers because they built our country, they are the heroes that led a revolution against the big bad wolf that was Great Britain.  Examples of this is the George Washington cherry tree myth, there is no way to tell if he actually did but we believe it because its George Washington. Its fine to idolize these noble men , but to spread misinformation about them to sensationalize them like what happened with Ross Cappichioni is just wrong.
