It forced an armistice between Russia an Germany and led to ending the Eastern Front. A peace agreement followed as Russia surrendered.The Russian Revolution accelerated the fall of the Tsars, and a later greater empire will in turn result :the USSR.

The Russian Revolution accelerated the fall of the Tsars, who were fighting against Germany in disproported strength. The badly trained Russian troops couldnt stand a match. So the participation of Russia in World War was seen as a capitalist endeavour. The Russian Revolution did not change the outcome of the war.  It led to significant loss of territorios to the Germans, and diminished Russian presence in the East but it did not change the ultimate outcome. As following years will Russia regain the presence and influence on the lost territories.

The enemies of the Tsars were in and outside its borders, as socialists began spreading the marxist idea and negotiating peace. The Russian Revolution had the effect of putting an end to the major front of fighting on the Eastern Front in World War I. It temporarily helped the Germans by focusing troops in a single front, as they wished. Bolshevik revolution did not really end up making much of a difference in the outcome of the war. It did paved the way for the tensions that would arise in the WW2.
