Explanation: The invasion of Western Europe by the Allied forces took place on the 6th of June 1944 in Normandy , a coastal region in France. An earlier but unsuccessful attempt had been made through Italy.

The D day invasion bought to an end the growing domination and extermination of Jews by the German Nazi Forces.Out of about 156,000 troops, about 4,000 Allied men lost their lives on D day.To take control of Western Europe, it took the participation of the US, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, France and China to bring the Germans to a stand still.The war was between 1939 and 1945.The reestablished power by the joint Military Allied Forces brought back the moral and spirit of survival of the population of Western  Europe who saw their future being rather bleak.
