Martin Luther was known for what is now called the "Lutheran Reformation." During this reformation, Luther started the trend of breaking away from the Catholic Church. His movement was the biggest and the first of is type from the Catholic Church, which is super interesting. His branching off inspired others to follow in his footsteps, which is what would interest me in following his ideas. The publication of Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences also known as The 95 Theses appeals greatly to me personally. In this, he blatantly listed out his problems with the "indulgences" sold by the Catholic Church. This rebellious act of Luther was unheard of in his time, as it was well known that anyone who dared to step out of line in front of the Catholic Church would surely face death. Nonetheless, Luther persisted in his fight against the Catholic Church, which is why he and his ideas appeal to me so much.
