to be able to be closer to heaven

the toltec civilization flourished in ancient central mexico between the 10th and them by the earlier olmec, teotihuacan, maya and others, the toltecs would build pyramids to the name of the great god quetzalcoatl ('feathered serpent') amongst his titles. suggest that there was a close cultural link between the two civilizations.
