1. One of the main issues that was unresolved after the Treaty of Versailles was the economic and political future of Germany. Germany was seen as largely responsible for WWI, and therefore, the League of Nations wanted to punish it. It also wanted to send a message to other countries that might be inclined to try to alter the balance of power in Europe in the future. However, the sanctions were extremely harsh, and many people believe these were a direct cause of WWII.

2. One of the most significant events that led to the end of Communism was the fall of the Berlin wall. The Berlin wall was seen as the boundary between communist and capitalist Europe. When the wall was tear down, this was seen as a symbol of the end of Communism and the reunification of the two areas of the continent.
