It involved five men who broke into the head office of democratic national committee. who were all linked to Nixons administration. It affected the presidency because a network of political spying and attemps to a cover up Journalists linked the five men who broke in the democratic national committee to Nixons campaign group to re-elect the president. The tapes were made public by the supreme court.
