What two european countries were at war (french and indian war)

The two European countries pinned against each other during the french and Indian war was the french and the British each opposing side had the help of Indians/native Americans hence the name.  The British one the war and the french lost. But with the win for the British came massive depth. Which leading to more matters concerning the colonies, which also may I remind you the war was fought on native american/american soil.
