How were the cultural tensions of the 1920s reflected in the democratic party?

After the war, America was enjoying a period of economic prosperity as jobs were plentiful and the income was high.  People’s living conditions improved and new ideas mixed with the old. Farmers and labor unions were the ones who did not fare well due to problems in agriculture and management.
