He had the resposibility of ruling after the Great Depression,a period of American history in which citizens all accross The United States lost their jobs and savings after a major economic crisis. The new deal was a series of policies and projects intended to assure and relieve American citizens from the consequences of the economic breakdown. The main objective of this new deal policy was to restore American dignity and prosperity and in consequence, stablish a new relationship between the government and the citizens,based on trust and hope.
