Texas is commonly dominated by hills, mountain slopes, desert grasslands and valleys, plateaus, steppes, and prairies. On the other hand, Maine has a lot of forest lands. In fact, Maine is considered the most forested area among all of the states in U.S.

Another geographic difference between Texas and Maine is that Texas has only a small number of natural lakes which is why the people built several man-made reservoirs. In contrast, Maine is composed of many lakes.
