Explanation:
The self report survey is an unofficial survey carried out by the officials of the justice system to take records of crimes that were committed within a certain time period that was not officially recorded or was not captured in the Victim's reports. it is a measurement tool that focuses more on crimes committed by or against people from 12 years and older ( juveniles ) which in most cases might be missed by the official statistics and victim's reports.
In the survey self questionnaires are made available to the juveniles in correctional centers to inquire about crimes committed in schools, identity theft and crimes committed during contact with law enforcement which is more often than not missed out in the official statistics is take into consideration. this survey is carried out by the Bureau of justice.
