Why were creole so ready to revolt in 1808

Creoles are Latin Americans with European descent who had ownership of the haciendas, ranches and mines on the country. They however disliked their second-class status because they could not hold any government or Church jobs.

The cause of their revolt in 1808 was due to

1.Their dislike for the second class status and wanting more power

2.They felt as if they were being ignored in the affairs of the country

3.They were spurred on by new ideas which helped to enlighten them.

4. They wanted to be among the ruling class.
