Women's freedoms were limited in the way that they couldn't vote, own property, and were mostly expected to be housewives. They were overall viewed as lesser than men. Feminists began their activism when the Enlightenment Era came along. Many people had began thinking up more radical ideas and women began to wonder why they were treated differently than men. They began to challenge the norm and started their activism which eventually led to women's suffrage, women's inclusion in the constitution, and the ongoing battle for equal pay.
