Why would a flood in the cattle states increase the price of beef (think of supply and demand)?

The main reason would be because the cattle in these states wouldn't have enough to eat and would perish. When that would happen, there would be less available cattle to be found all around. When that would happen - there would also be an increase in price for the same reason as the demand would stay constant.
