a primary care physician is a doctor who treats many types of illness and injuries. a specialist is a medical professional who has chosen to focus on one field of medicine, such as an oncologist, who treats only cancer, or a podiatrist, who focuses only on treating foot conditions. what are the advantages of seeing a specialist as opposed to a primary care physician? list at least one circumstance in which you might want to see a specialist, and at least one circumstance in which you might want to see a primary care physician.

For primary care physician: you could be confused or have really no idea as to what your condition actually is, and a primary care physician has the ability to identify what it is from their vast knowledge in the different types of illness or injury you could possibly have.
for a specialist: the condition or type of injury you may have can be very rare meaning that it may not be very well known. This is where finding a specialist can be very helpful as they can have the ability to be very knowledgeable of not only your type of condition and what it entails but also what can be done to cure you of your condition.
