PL HELP ME??? Caregivers should teach preschoolers to use simple words to express their emotions such as, “When you did that, it made me feel sad.” This is a simple sentence that teaches the child the name of the emotion she’s feeling and teaches her to express herself.

Caregivers should practice good communication skills at times when their child is frustrated. They should talk to their child and ask questions. They can help her understand that a lot of children feel this way and she is not alone.

Write five pretend scenarios where a child is acting a certain way and the adult answers in a way that implements the principles taught above.

How do you think children can benefit from caregivers responding in these ways?
