I don't know the specific anwser if this part of a test, however, sometimes it's their trauma that causes narcissims.  

Their truama can cause them to feel they arent worthy of love, so nobody else should have love. Or since their truama was so horrific for them they need to be overly confident to bring others to make them feel better about themselves.
