Social media is an important influence in society and a potential "gold-mine" for many topics social psychologists are interested in studying. However, rather than being an unregulated and lawless frontier,
a debate about ethics and social media use is a hot button topic/issues. Considering what you have
learned about ethics in social psychology research, what are some pressing ethical issues that social
psychologists might need to consider (for example. informed consent) and to what extent should they be
allowed to use social media to study thoughts, feelings, attitudes, beliefs, etc?
