There are many different types of interdisciplinary health care teams. All work together to optimize patient care. Some
examples of these teams include core teams, contingency teams, coordinating teams, ancillary teams and support
teams. When these teams are formed they go through a number of stages. They begin in the forming stage and next
move to the norming stage. After they settle into the norming stage, a conflict often arises and they move into the
storming stage. After they figure out how to settle the conflict, they move into the last stage, which is the performing
stage.
Select the statement, which BEST describes the error in this paragraph.
1. Health care teams are not interdisciplinary teams.
2. A core team is a type of coordinating team, so they are the same thing.
3. From the forming state, teams move into the storming stage and then the norming stage.
4. The performing stage is not the last stage in team building; the norming stage is the last stage.
