Why is it sometimes difficult for someone to recognize a mental disorder

Hi there. So some mental disorders are easier to recognize as they have symptoms that stand out from normal behavior. Sometimes other mental disorder behaviors such as anxiety can be hidden or controlled. There is usually a few behaviors that happen after a trigger, episode, or event that can tell a family member or friend that something is not right. Unfortunately in many cases, the ill person gets help too late. They could have been taken to a doctor or hospital to get treatment as soon as the behaviors started, not as they became very concerning as happens in many cases.  * I hope this helps please let me know if you need anything else : ) *

Sometimes mental disorders can present with physical symptoms, so it can be difficult to determine if it is mental or physical.
