Does high quantity over a long period of time work better than high intensity over a short period of time in terms of fitness? For example, if I want to get better at squats, should I rep out 250 'perfect form' squats in a row 3 times in a 60 minute period(3x250 squats in an hour), Or should I do a relatively easy amount (with correct form of course) every short period of time over the course of my entire day ( like 20 squats every five minutes of my day from 1 pm till 8 pm).

The reason I'm asking is that I want to increase my limit in certain calisthenic workouts(like pushups and air squats) as fast as possible and I feel like being sore would slow this process down. And I heard that you should strive for quantity over intensity to become better at something.
