What does the nervous system do? How does the nervous system work together with other body systems to maintain homeostasis?

The nervous system controls movement and balance, the five senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch), your thought processes, and how awake and aware you are. The nervous system uses electrical signals to help organ systems of the body respond quickly to changes in internal and external environments.
